Since it is my birthday, I am going to do something a little bit out of the ordinary and have a little bit of extra fun today. When I was a boy, I was really into video gaming and I am starting to get back into it again with the encouragement of my friend Jim. Right now my desktop computer is on its last operative legs: the power supply and hard drive are failing and it just is not worth replacing them. On a side note, I wish I had built my own PC versus buying that Lenovo monstrosity back in 2017. Had I built my own, all I would have to do is replace the failing parts with standard ones. Ain’t nothing standard about that Lenovo.
Alas I digress, I am going to treat myself to a Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition for 19.99 and play it on my computer’s keyboard until my gamepad arrives from Amazon. So I will have a little bit of fun and start rebuilding the hand-eye coordination necessary for playing games. I miss the fun of video games and nowadays they’re even more fun because they can be played cooperatively and competitively over the internet. Playing over the internet is something I have yet to try out.
I just hope today goes better than yesterday. I screwed up again last night and did not eat enough calories to make my primary medication work as well. I really do need to be a lot more careful because everything is a delicate balance and getting one thing out of whack means I start to go downhill quickly. I am also now back on the ECT schedule starting next week. I have 4 sessions scheduled over 6 weeks and I hope that this is the ticket to feeling a lot better.
