Unfortunately, web development is not going to be a practical path for me and I am okay with it. As I get deeper into the material, I am only getting more and more confused. I am confused to the point where I don’t even know how to get started on the project assigned and my brain is unable to formulate the questions to ask. I am good with knowing my limitations. Anyhow, my true strength in Information Technology has always been as a systems administrator/engineer. This is my true gift so, as my friends would put it, I’d better pursue that with some updated certifications.
Since my true love is really Linux, getting red hat Red Hat certifications is the right path forwards. Am I disappointed that web development is not going to work out? Maybe a little but the reality is it does not play to my strengths. I was not really interested in it anyway. I just saw earning potential but doing it for a living is not going to be a whole lot of fun. I thought programming would be something I could do from home or freelance. Systems Administration is a little harder to do from home when often times you need to be on-site to perform the work.
For today, I am just going to rest on my laurels and tomorrow I will start plowing through my Red Hat RHCSA 9 study guide. The Sander Van Vugt book helping you to study for the certification exam is supposed to be the best one out there. Since I am already good with Linux, this should help propel me to the point where sitting for the exams will be doable. At least I managed to find the book in one of the boxes in my closet without too much difficulty.
I need to save my energy for the struggle ahead which will be getting Medicare reinstated and learning the Red Hat way of administering Linux. I had good news that the expedited reinstatement of my Social Security Disability benefits has been approved. That gives me one less major thing to worry about. May better times lay ahead.
