The moving adventure is now complete and I am headed back home. On base, I am happy to be headed back home because I am exhausted. Despite the initial hiccups that happened last Thursday night and the last minute scramble to both locate a truck and truck packing help, everything ultimately went well. Now, this week I have to get some sort of employment.
I am hoping to get employment with one of the local truck and fleet repair companies on the weekend or any two days a week that they want. For right now, I just want part-time employment as jumping into the deep end of work is not what I am ready to do just yet. There is a local repair facility looking to hire somebody to pick up and return customer vehicles and this is right up my alley.
I have to remind myself to follow up with my Division of Vocational Rehabilitation counselor to get that Drug and Alcohol Counselor training so I can get state certified as a counselor. My DVR counselor tells me that the training is short for people with a Bachelor’s Degree already and I have mine in Criminal Justice.
It seems like I have a dozen and one things to do this week but that’s usually the case when you go away. Either way, I am a man on a mission. I managed to finally get an appointment with my therapist for Monday, June 14th. I am doing this one as a Zoom because I just have too much to do to get down to the office.
Now I just have to hope that weather does not screw me up. Thunderstorms are due over Philly at around the time of arrival and it gets messy! Everything about Philadelphia International Airport was a poor design from the very beginning.
