I really want to know why the ECT session this morning was so much easier. I didn’t awaken from it feeling disoriented or uncomfortable. I didn’t feel like I was coughing and chocking either. I think it might be because I asked the nurse anesthetist to use suction while they do the procedure. That much said I will take it. I feel tired but my brains aren’t scrambled and I can focus and function. I hope that this will continue for the last two sessions I have scheduled.
The doctor gave me two weeks off so my next one is on Wednesday, March 31st. Then my final one is two days later. We generally think that maybe once or twice a month should be good enough to maintain the benefits of ECT. While I was waiting my turn in the queue, I saw another patient who was a senior citizen and part of me felt really sorry for her. I can imagine the procedure is taxing for somebody that is older. It isn’t exactly an easy procedure for somebody 44 years old, let alone in their 60s.
My friend, Jim, scored a Blu-Ray DVD player for me for 30.00 on Facebook Marketplace. The owner said he only used it 4 or 5 times. I am super happy because the local Good Will has DVDs for only a dollar a piece. If I feel like I am in need of some extra entertainment, I can just go to the store and buy a few movies to enjoy. The next couple of days I am going to be spending helping my brother doing some things around my apartment. The kitchen needs to be put back together, insulated, dry-walled, and some electric work. Then perhaps this weekend I’ll think of a computer project to do.
