I am so incensed by Joe Biden’s steadfast refusal to address the issue of a lack of affordable healthcare that I feel prompted to write another blog entry today. Joe Biden is only interested in perpetuating a very broken system of healthcare governed by the largely profit-driven, private health insurance industry. This week alone had several important newsworthy items on the sorry state of healthcare in America.
To begin with, Ady Barkan, a champion of single-payer, Medicare For All, is now in his final stages of ALS. He can no longer breath on his own and must have a ventilator. Joe Biden has callously refused a dying man’s wish to speak with him. Had Biden any class, he would have visited Ady. Uncle Joe has no excuse not to because he can more than afford the cost of the travel. Instead, he prefers to remain in silence and disconnect while a good man slowly wastes away.
Joe Biden’s lack of support of single-payer is a direct slap in the face to people, like myself, whom suffer from mental illness and disability. Since he is of the donor class, his salience is a tantamount to wishing that I would die. Because of his and his fellow class’ lack of any kind of care and concern, tens of thousands might commit suicide or have to suffer in silence because they cannot get the medicines or therapies that they need to lead wholesome, productive lives.
I have personally given up on any kind of support for my needs from a man that is essentially psychopathic. Any person that would seek to deny healthcare to those whom need it, are symptomatic of depravity of the highest order. I am calling on Joe Biden to drop out of the race. If he cannot/will not support single payer healthcare, then he ignores a little over two thirds of the population that want it. These two-thirds represent all political backgrounds.
