After using Firefox since November of 2017, it was time to switch back to Chrome solely on the technical merit of the browser. From the philosophical standpoint of data monitoring and surveillance, The Mozilla Foundation is much friendlier to privacy than Google. Google is notoriously privacy unfriendly but Chrome is just an all around faster browser that runs more securely than Firefox. In this day and age of security issues, it’s preferable to chose a browser on its technical merits.
Furthermore, memory usage is lower in Chrome (Windows 10 anyway) so it gives me more memory to use in GNS3 to do network simulations and study for my Cisco certification classes. I am sure Firefox will one catch up in terms of technical merits but the lower memory footprint and more secure browser is enough for me to switch back. I even switched my Android phone back to Chrome.
