A New Political Party

During this time of political, economic, and health crisis in America it has never been more clear that the two party system has failed 99% of Americans. These 99% are people like you and me, people that work for a living in a form of indentured servitude to the 1%. Both parties conspire to keep us in this status so it is time for a progressive party, one that it is dedicated to social, economic, and racial justice; dedicated to ending the plight of the working class and ending economic inequality. Single Payer Healthcare

It has been 3 days since I have put up a blog post so I figured that I would write something on the necessity of single payer healthcare, especially in light of the Coronavirus. As a quick aside, I refuse to call it COVID19 because the Corona Beer company takes exception; that’s just too bad. Since millions of Americans are going to get sick and many may die the time for a national discussion on moving to Medicare For All has never been more important. [Read More]

Fuck the Federal Government

The last 7 days have left me utterly drained and very angry at the federal government. I wish I could say I was surprised at the complete incompetence of the federal government, so yes, I am at the point of exclaiming, “Fuck the federal government!” The lack of a good, cohesive response to the COVID19 pandemic has caused a panic in the business world and the wealthy have sold off all of their shit causing the market to collapse and wiping out the lifesavings of an untold number of people in a short 1 week span. High Speed Rail

I was prompted to write this blog post after learning about the airlines screaming for a bail out when the industry had a 45 billion dollar stock buy back. Let’s let the airline industry go the way of the coal industry: ashes to ashes and dust to dust. The amount of pollution a jet airliner produces is pretty bad and one of the byproducts of burnt jet fuel is Benzine. So the industrial whining has me convinced that our future lies in high speed rail. [Read More]

Trump: A Case Study In Failed Leadership

Donald Trump is a textbook case study in failed leadership. Today, Thursday, March 12, 2020 he lied about the seriousness of the Coronavirus pandemic, he lied about things going smoothly for testing and diagnosis, and he lied about Americans coming back into the country as being carefully screened. Americans can only hope against all hope that he does not get re-elected this year. The social and economic injustice that Trump has unleashed for America is epic. [Read More]

An Olive Branch for Liz Warren

The genesis of this blog post is a twitter poll that I saw below and thought it was an incredibly thought provoking question. Should Liz Warren be Bernie’s running mate? Should Bernie offer Warren VP ? @ewarren @BernieSanders — 🌹 🛸 👽 (@BerniesWave) March 5, 2020 I will freely admit that I do not trust Warren as far as I can throw her. She is known to blow with the political winds, much like a windsock. [Read More]

A Public Housing Policy

The cost of housing on the private rental marketing is exploding to the point where people are unable to afford the rent on one job. There is nothing normal, sustainable, or even good about this situation and I am surprised more alarm bells are not rining. If it is taking working two jobs just to make ends meet, then that means people are unable to save money for retirement and my generation is in dire straits as we age and face needed care. Joker as Social Commentary

The worst part of having a mental illness is people expect you to behave as if you don’t. -Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck in Joker (Warner Bros. 2019) This quote is the perfect summary of what it is like to live with having a mental illness or any disability whatsoever. It accurately captures just how much society lacks empathy and compassion to people like myself that suffer a very real and debilitating condition. [Read More]

The Real Walking Dead

Many of us enjoy AMC’s The Walking Dead and the zombie apocalypse holds a certain grasp over more than a few people. Even I enjoy the genre, but more so the campier style with Woody Harrelson in Zombieland 1 and 2. But what of the real walking dead? Yes, they really do exist and mostly in America. The real walking dead are everyday Americans that cannot afford the costs of their healthcare so they ration it and must wait until their health is already at the point of a train wreck before getting any.
