What A Day

It’s been quite a while since I’ve worked a full day and I am exhausted beyond all reason. I picked up a two day job for a market research study. I cannot go beyond that because I signed a non-disclosure agreement. But I am not used to working and focusing like this. Well, at least the topic is interesting and the presenters have been impassioned. Oh and the food they provided for breakfast, lunch, and a mid-day snack was excellent. They had fresh warm chips and salsa as a snack. That hit the spot.

Well, at long last I have Medicare Part B active. But when the god lord giveth, he taketh as the Christians love to say. I’ve got to figure out why Social Security has underpaid me by almost 1,000.00. I looked at the sum of money I that was deposited in my checking account and I just about had a heart attack. So needless to say, while I write this, I am on hold with our much maligned Social Security Administration to figure out why this happened and if yet another mistake was made. The italics should hopefully reveal my sarcasm.

But at least I have Medicare Part B active and I can make appointments to see the providers that I need to see. So I am happy about this. I can actually get therapy now! I need therapy for my depression and mental illness. That is quite a measure of relief. It was nice to get out of the house and socialize. I am looking forward to tomorrow’s session, and again getting out and about. Now the only thing I have waiting in the pipeline is paratransit access. Hopefully that happens sooner than later. I’ll need to call and follow-up on Monday for that.

As I am discovering, Uber is really getting expensive and it is going to cut quite a bit into my earnings from this paid 2 day gig. If I had paratransit access, the cost would have been significantly less. Well, what can a dude do other than what he can. Next week I have a meeting with my Section 8 landlord to re-certify and reduce my rent because of a significant medical expense I can use to help offset things. I am again reminded at how expensive poverty is. It should not be expensive to be poor. The wealthy need to pay their fair share of living in the United States. I’ll conclude with that.
