Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. My aim is to educate people on what it is like to live with a mental illness, Autism Spectrum Disorder, or as in my case, both. These conditions are nothing to be hated, feared, and stigmatized. By sharing my trials and tribulations with life, it is my hope that you will gain some insight, understanding, and some empathy and compassion for people that suffer these afflictions. I have a dual diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Bipolar Depression. What does this mean? It quite simply means that I tend to suffer severe bouts of depression that are not something that I can simply snap out of – they result from a chemical imbalance. These conditions do not automatically mean that I am violent or unstable but I struggle in ways that require the assistance of medication.
I am passionate about being kind and empathetic towards people. I love cats of all varieties, especially the black ones because they’re often sadly overlooked at shelters when they’re no less affectionate and loving then others. I spend time volunteering at a local shelter and I make certain to spend the balance of my time helping to enrichen the lives of the black cat residents. I love photography and creative writing; which will all be eventually posted here. I am a secular humanist and I live by the steps in recovery that do not involve the innvocation. I care deeply for my fellow poor and working class members so I consider myself politically very progressive to the point where we need Medicare For All, Student Loan Forgiveness, a Universal Basic Income, and much more. We are not meant to lead our lives as rugged individualists but living our lives for each other. I love each and every single one of you.
