I think the best piece of advice that I would give to someone younger than me is to be an active listener. An active listener is someone that listens without judgement or interrupting. Listen to what the person has to say. Ask questions to get them to open up. By being an active listener, you gain a person’s trust and confidence. This is priceless.

Being an active listener also helps you to become more sympathetic and empathetic. It makes you a better and more likeable person. You learn a lot by listening; broadening your own horizons.
